John and I met a few years ago while visiting a park one sunny afternoon in Orange Park, Florida. John was there with his granddaughter and I was there with my son. We struck up a conversation and John revealed he had written a few children's stories and wanted to find someone to illustrate them.  I told him I happened to be an artist. He described "I'd Like A Cat Like That" and I immediately thought of settings for the cats he described. We exchanged contact information and little by little worked on the book in our spare time. There were some difficulties along the way, but we kept working on it, and the process got easier as we went along. We both wanted the book to be colorful and fun and look like a book we would want to read to our children. I think we accomplished that, and we sincerely hope you and your children enjoy the book for years to come! Happy reading! -- John and Linda
